Day 9: It’s Lobular

14/04/2023 5:33 am

Young woman using smartphoneYesterday I found out I have Lobular Breast Cancer. It’s Oestrogen and Progesterone fed which is a good thing. (Apparently)  I was upset for a few seconds but fine after that. Ali handled it well.

I have lost 5 pounds in a week. No wonder I am looking thin. Must be stress because I HAVE  eaten.

My mastectomy is planned for w/c 8th May. Just the left breast at the moment. Then radio and possibly chemo. This will depend on the CT result. I had that yesterday as I got a cancellation.

Monday they should be triaging me and Thursday I see the consultant again for my current treatment plan.

They will examine the breast once it is removed and take 4 lymph nodes to be certain it hasn’t reached them. All of this will again determine whether I have chemo.

Told Ewan yesterday and he handled it well. Telling Niamh today. Mum and Dad on Sunday.

Also told Ruby who was lovely and gave me a hug, I was really touched by her response and wasn’t expecting it. Some people have been great and others not so.

Today I am going to total tone, food shop, ringing Helen (Jim’s wife) for a chat. …she had breast cancer. Ringing Niamh, dog walking and emailing my Uncle Bob for advice.

That’s enough for today! No booking for holiday let for tomorrow yet…. That might be a good thing really.

Ewan is working today and kids not here so should be a peaceful day.

I am feeling calm and positive. Hoping CT scan results are OK.  Bye for now. X
